Flashing an ESP32

You flash a proxy from the hub itself — no toolchain, no Arduino IDE.

  1. Plug the ESP32 into the computer running your browser (not the hub) with a data-capable USB cable.

  2. Open the hub’s flash page and choose your board. Flashing uses Web Serial, so use a Chromium-based browser (Chrome/Edge) on desktop.

  3. Install. The page writes the firmware and verifies it.

  4. Onboard Wi-Fi. The firmware advertises itself over USB using Improv; the hub sends your Wi-Fi credentials, then POSTs the role configuration.

  5. Confirm. The new proxy appears in the hub, ready to be added as a device.

Next: wire it for your job — IR, serial, or other.
