First boot

Once the box is up and you’ve opened the console (http://remaestro.local on a Pi, or your host’s address in Docker), you’ll land on the setup flow.

Signing in

The Pi appliance ships a well-known local login so you can always get in on the console or over SSH:

• Username: maestro
• Password: maestro

Caution

Change this on any box that leaves your bench. It’s deliberately simple for a homelab device you can physically reach — not for anything exposed to a hostile network.

First steps

1. Add a device. Pick a driver, and reMaestro will discover what it can (many drivers find gear on the network automatically) or ask for an address / pairing.
2. Build an activity. “Watch a Movie” can power the receiver, switch the projector’s input, dim the lights and open an app — in order, every time.
3. Lay out a remote, or use the one a driver ships.
