Choosing how to run it

reMaestro runs anywhere you can give it a network and leave it on. There are two supported ways in.

Raspberry Pi appliance

Flash one image to a card and you get a self-updating, self-healing box: read-only-friendly OS, A/B update slots, mDNS discovery. Best if you want an appliance you don’t administer. Flash a Pi →

Docker / Compose

Run the container on a NAS, mini-PC or any amd64/arm64 Linux host you already have. Best if you already run a homelab. Run in Docker →

Either way the app updates on its own cadence and nothing phones home. The Pi image additionally can take signed operating-system updates (see Updating).

  • A wired or Wi-Fi network the box and your AV gear share.
  • For the Pi: a Raspberry Pi 4 or 5 and a 32 GB+ card.
  • For Docker: a host with Docker installed and a way to reach your devices on the LAN.
