Ask it to sort things out

Point reMaestro at an AI model and it can untangle a stuck activity, turn a sentence into a working rule, or explain why the projector won't switch inputs.

  • Fix broken states. “The receiver's on the wrong input again” becomes a diagnosis and a fix.
  • Build from a sentence. “Dim the lights when a movie starts” turns into a real rule.
  • Understands your setup. It reads your own devices and activities to answer in context.

Completely optional, and off by default. Bring your own key and provider. Your prompts go where you point them, never through us. Everything else works with no AI at all.

Remember the one universal remote that finally ran the whole living room? It was discontinued years ago, and it still leans on servers someone else owns. The day those go dark, a drawer full of hardware goes dark with them.

reMaestro brings the one-remote dream back, and this time it lives on your hardware. Nobody can switch it off but you.

It runs on your hardware

Flash a Raspberry Pi for a plug-and-play appliance, or run it in Docker on the NAS or mini-PC you already own. Your devices, your data, your network. Nothing phones home, nothing needs a subscription, nothing disappears when a company sunsets an app.

  • Pi or Docker. A ready-to-flash appliance image, or a container on any amd64 / arm64 Linux box.
  • No cloud. Everything stays on your LAN. It works when your internet doesn't.
  • An appliance, not a project. Self-updating, self-healing, over-the-air releases.
  • Yours to bend. Open drivers, custom remotes, rules and activities, no ceiling.

A few dollars of hardware

Reach the room the hub can't

Some gear sits behind a cabinet, or in a room the hub's blaster can't see. Flash a cheap ESP32, wire it up, and it becomes a proxy that relays commands out to where they're needed.

  • Flash it from the browser. Plug the ESP32 in, press Install. No toolchain, no fuss.
  • Relays anything. IR blasts, RS-232 serial and Bluetooth HID, out in another room.
  • As many as you like. One per room, all conducted by the single hub.

We're putting together 3D-printable enclosures, clean parts lists, and step-by-step build guides, so you can put a proxy together for the price of the parts. And if enough people would rather have one ready to plug in, we may offer pre-built units too.

It listens, too

Drive it with any remote

reMaestro doesn't just push buttons, it listens for them. Pair a 2.4GHz USB clicker, a Bluetooth remote, or an old IR wand, and every key becomes an input you can map.

  • USB, Bluetooth or IR. Whatever you already own becomes a control surface.
  • Map a key to anything. Fire an activity, jump to an app, or nudge the volume. Your layout.
  • A remote of our own is coming. Built for this from the ground up. You'll want it.

An open ecosystem. The mappings and the protocol are yours. If you ever move on, take the remote, and its layout, to whatever you use next. Nothing here is locked to us.
